Middlepits

Kgalagadi, Botswana

Why visit Middlepits?

Middlepits is a tiny settlement in the southern Kgalagadi District, located on the border with South Africa. It is one of the most remote inhabited places in Botswana, consisting of little more than a few houses, a border post, and a basic shop. The surrounding landscape is the classic Kalahari red dune country. Middlepits is used primarily as a border crossing point for travellers between Botswana and South Africa's Northern Cape Province.
