Werda

Kgalagadi, Botswana

Why visit Werda?

Werda is a small farming settlement in the southern Kgalagadi District, located in the Kalahari near the border with South Africa. It is a rural community focused on livestock farming, with a small population living in scattered homesteads across the surrounding cattle posts. The village has minimal infrastructure and services, surrounded by the vast, open landscapes of the southern Kalahari. Red sand dunes and acacia scrub stretch in every direction, and the nearest substantial town, Tsabong, lies about 200 km to the north.
