Mincivan is a village in the Zəngilan District of southern Azerbaijan, located in the Zangezur Mountains on the Oxçu River north-west of Zangilan. The settlement is in a narrow mountain valley near the Armenian border. The area was under Armenian control from 1993 until 2020 and is now undergoing reconstruction and resettlement.

The climate is mild continental with warm summers and cold winters. The mountain setting makes it cooler than the lowlands. Spring and autumn are the best visiting seasons.

Mincivan is a small village in a dramatic mountain setting, with limited infrastructure but surrounded by the scenic Zangezur landscape.

How do you get there?

By Plane

The nearest major airport is Nakhchivan International Airport (NAJ), about 120 km north-west. Official authorisation is required for this border region.

By Car / Road

Mincivan is reached via mountain roads from Zangilan (20 km south-east) or from the north. The roads are winding and may require a 4WD vehicle.

The village is small and walkable.
