Why visit Y Yen?

Ý Yên is a rural district in western Nam Định province, bordering Hà Nam and Ninh Bình provinces. The district capital is the town of Yên Lâm. Ý Yên is historically known for its traditional woodworking and furniture-making villages, particularly La Xuyên village, which has produced fine wooden furniture for over 500 years. The district also hosts the Hồng Tiến Industrial Park, a major manufacturing zone. Agriculture and rice cultivation remain important to the local economy.

The climate is humid subtropical with hot, wet summers (May–October) and cool, dry winters (November–March). The Đáy River forms part of the district's eastern boundary.
