Hai Hau
Nam Định, Viet Nam
Why visit Hai Hau?
Hải Hậu is a coastal district in southeastern Nam Định province, known for its 30 km coastline, white-sand beaches, and strong Catholic heritage. The district has one of the highest concentrations of Catholic churches in Vietnam, with over 150 churches and chapels dotting the landscape. Its economy is based on fishing, agriculture, salt production, and emerging coastal tourism. The district capital is the town of Yên Định, and there are 32 commune-level subdivisions.
The climate follows the Red River Delta pattern: hot and humid from May to October, cool and dry from November to March. Summer storms and typhoons can affect the coast from July to September. The best time to visit is spring (March–April) or autumn (October–November).
