Tuy Duc
Đắk Nông, Viet Nam
Why visit Tuy Duc?
Tuy Duc (Tuy Đức) is a rural district in southwestern Đắk Nông province, Central Highlands of Vietnam, bordering Bình Phước province. The district's name is derived from the M'Nong language "Daàk-tuul," meaning "the spring of tala trees" (Borassus flabellifer). The present Vietnamese name was created by President Ngô Đình Diệm's administration in 1957.
The district sits in a transition zone between the Central Highlands and the southeastern region. The terrain features basalt hills, river valleys, and agricultural land. The population includes Kinh, M'Nong, and other ethnic groups. The climate follows the Central Highlands pattern: a rainy season from April to October and a dry season from November to March.
