About Bodrum

Bodrum is a world-famous resort city on the Bodrum Peninsula in Muğla Province, southwestern Turkey. With a population of around 180,000, it is one of Turkey's most popular tourist destinations, known for its stunning Bodrum Castle, vibrant nightlife, luxury marinas, beautiful beaches, and whitewashed hillside houses. The city was ancient Halicarnassus, home to the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The climate is Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and mild winters. The peak season is June to September. Bodrum's attractions are spread along the peninsula.

How to reach

By Plane

Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) is about 35 km northeast. Havaş shuttles run to Bodrum city centre.

By Bus

Bodrum's otogar has connections to İzmir (3 hr), Istanbul (10 hr), and other major cities.

By Sea

Ferries connect Bodrum to Kos (Greece, 1 hr), Rhodes, and other Greek islands.

Dolmuş run along the peninsula. Taxis and rental cars are available.
