Dongshi

Dongshi (東勢) is a district in eastern Taichung City, Taiwan, located in the foothills of the Central Mountain Range. Known for its Hakka culture, fruit orchards, and the Dongshi Night Market. The area is the gateway to the Daxueshan (Great Snow Mountain) forest area.

The climate is subtropical.

Taichung International Airport (RMQ) is about 35 km west.

By Train

Dongshi does not have a TRA station. The nearest is Fengyuan Station (15 km west).

By Car / Road

Dongshi is accessible via Provincial Highway 3 and County Road 129. From Taichung City, drive east for about 30 minutes.

The town centre is walkable. A car is needed for the mountain areas.
