Checheng

Checheng (車城) is a coastal township in southern Pingtung County, Taiwan, located near the northern entrance to Kenting National Park. Known for the Checheng Mazu Temple — one of Taiwan's most important — and the nearby National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium.

The climate is tropical. October to April are the best months.

By Plane

Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) is about 70 km north. A taxi takes about 1 hour.

By Train

The nearest TRA station is Fangliao Station. From Fangliao, take a bus or taxi south.

By Car / Road

Checheng is accessible via Provincial Highway 26. From Kaohsiung, drive south for about 1 hour.

A car is useful for reaching the aquarium and surrounding areas.
