Why visit York?

York is a historic fishing village on the southern coast of the Freetown Peninsula in the Western Area of Sierra Leone. It was founded as a settlement for liberated Africans in the early 19th century and retains a quiet, historic character. The village has a beautiful beach and is a popular weekend getaway for Freetown residents.

The climate is tropical, with a rainy season from May to November. The dry season from December to April offers the best weather.
