Two Boats

Two Boats is a small settlement on Ascension Island, located roughly midway between Georgetown and the US airbase. Its name is said to derive from the two dry river valleys between which it sits. The settlement is primarily residential and includes a school, a club, and housing for civilian contractors and their families.

The climate is subtropical and dry, though slightly cooler than Georgetown due to its slightly higher elevation. Two Boats is a quiet, functional base-camp settlement rather than a tourist destination, but its club is a popular social venue.

By Plane

RAF Ascension Island (ASI) is the nearest airlink, about 5 km east. There is no public transport; visitors need pre-arranged transport from their sponsor.

By Car / Road

Two Boats is about 8 km from Georgetown and 5 km from the airfield on a paved road. No public bus service exists.

The settlement is small and walkable. A private vehicle is necessary for reaching other parts of the island.

• Hiking on nearby trails, including paths up Green Mountain.
