Puerto Falcon

Puerto Falcón is a small river port in Presidente Hayes department, located on the Paraguay River opposite the Argentine city of Formosa. It is a border crossing point, connected to Formosa by the San Ignacio de Loyola Bridge. The town is a quiet frontier settlement with basic services, functioning mainly as a transit point for cross-border traffic. The climate is tropical; best visited during the dry season (May–September).

Puerto Falcón is on Route PY11, about 50 km north of Villa Hayes (1 hr) and connected by bridge to Formosa, Argentina. Buses from Asunción run a few times daily (GS.10,000–15,000, 1.5 hr).
