Why visit Marpha?

Marpha is a beautiful Thakali village in Mustang District at 2,670 m, famous for its pristine white-washed houses, cobblestone streets, and apple orchards. It is one of the most picturesque settlements in the Kali Gandaki valley and a popular stop on the Annapurna Circuit. The village is also known for its apple brandy and dried apple products.

The climate is arid and cool. Summer days are warm, nights are cold. Winters are very cold. The best times to visit are March–May and September–November.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Jomsom Airport (JMO) is 5 km north. A taxi from Jomsom to Marpha costs Rs 300–500 (10 minutes). Most trekkers walk from Jomsom (1 hour).

By Train

No train service.

By Car / Road

Marpha is 5 km south of Jomsom on a paved road.
