Waling

Waling is a municipality in Syangja District, located in the hills of Gandaki Province on the road between Pokhara and the Kali Gandaki valley. It is an important market centre for the surrounding agricultural region and a transit stop on the Siddhartha Highway connecting Pokhara to Lumbini and the Indian border.

The climate is subtropical hill climate with warm summers, a monsoon (June–September), and mild winters. The best time to visit is October–March.

The nearest airport is at Pokhara (PKR), 50 km north. Taxi from Pokhara costs Rs 2000–3000 (1.5 hours).

Waling is on the Siddhartha Highway, 50 km south of Pokhara (1.5 hours) and 100 km north of Lumbini. Buses from Pokhara pass through regularly.

The town is walkable. Rickshaws available.
