Putalibazar

Putalibazar is the district headquarters of Syangja District in Gandaki Province, situated on a ridge at 850 m overlooking the Andhi Khola valley. It is a picturesque hill town with a relaxed atmosphere and views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The town serves as an administrative and commercial centre for the surrounding villages.

The climate is subtropical with warm summers, a monsoon (June–September), and mild winters. The best time to visit is October–March.

The nearest airport is at Pokhara (PKR), 40 km north. Taxi from Pokhara costs Rs 1500–2500 (1 hour).

Putalibazar is on the Siddhartha Highway, 40 km south of Pokhara. Buses from Pokhara (Rs 150–300) run frequently.

The town is compact and walkable.

Walk the ridge for mountain viewpoints. Use as a stopover on the Pokhara–Lumbini route.
