Kawasoti is a municipality in Nawalpur District, Gandaki Province, located in the Inner Terai valley near the border with Chitwan National Park. It is an agricultural and commercial centre surrounded by rice paddies and forested hills, with growing significance as a service town for the eastern Gandaki region.

The climate is humid subtropical with hot summers, a monsoon (June–September), and mild winters. The best time to visit is October–March.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Bharatpur Airport (BHR) is 40 km east. A taxi from Bharatpur costs Rs 1500–2000 (45 minutes).

By Train

No train service.

By Car / Road

Kawasoti is on the Mahendra Highway, 130 km west of Kathmandu and 50 km east of Bharatpur. Buses from Kathmandu and Bharatpur serve the town.

Rickshaws and tempos. The town is walkable.
