Why visit Jomsom?

Jomsom is the district headquarters of Mustang District and the main settlement in the Kali Gandaki valley at 2,720 m. Jomsom is the starting or ending point for the Annapurna Circuit and the gateway to the restricted Upper Mustang region.

The climate is arid and cool year-round. Summer days are warm but nights are cold; winter is very cold with occasional snowfall. The best times to visit are March–May and September–November. The valley is famous for its strong afternoon winds.
