Why visit Ghorepani?

Ghorepani is a small village at 2,860 m in the Annapurna region, famous for Poon Hill (3,210 m), one of Nepal's most popular sunrise viewpoints. From Poon Hill, the panoramic view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges – including Machhapuchhre, Himchuli, and Nilgiri – is among the most spectacular in the Himalaya. Ghorepani is a key stop on the Ghorepani–Ghandruk trek and the Annapurna Circuit.

The best times to visit are March–May and September–November. The village is busy during peak seasons.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Pokhara Airport (PKR) is the gateway. From Pokhara, a taxi to Naya Pul (1 hour) followed by a 6–7 hour trek uphill.

By Train

No train service.

By Car / Road

Most visitors trek from Naya Pul (6–7 hours) or from Tatopani (4–5 hours).
