Why visit Chame?
Chame is the district headquarters of Manang District and the first significant settlement on the upper Marsyangdi valley section of the Annapurna Circuit. Located at 2,700 m, it is surrounded by pine forests and offers dramatic views of the Annapurna range, particularly the peak of Lamjung Himal.
The climate is cool with warm summer days and cold nights. The best trekking seasons are March–May and September–November. Winters are very cold.

By Plane
The nearest airport is at Pokhara (PKR). Most visitors arrive on foot from Besisahar (4–6 days trek).
By Train
No train service.
By Car / Road
A road from Besisahar now reaches Chame, but most trekkers arrive on foot.

What are the things to do?
- Lamjung Himal Views – The mountain rises dramatically above the village.
- Chame Hot Springs – Natural hot springs by the river, popular for tired trekkers.
- Chame Gompa – A small Tibetan Buddhist monastery.
- Marsyangdi River – The glacial river runs through the valley.
- Pine forests – The lower valley around Chame is beautifully forested.
