Why visit Bhimad?

Bhimad is a municipality in Tanahun District, located on the banks of the Trishuli River along the Prithvi Highway between Kathmandu and Pokhara. It is primarily a transit settlement serving highway travellers, with a growing population and local market.

The climate is subtropical with warm summers, a monsoon (June–September), and mild winters. The best time to visit is October–March.

How do you get there?

By Plane

The nearest airport is at Pokhara (PKR), 75 km west. Taxi from Pokhara costs Rs 2500–3500.

By Train

No train service.

By Car / Road

Bhimad is on the Prithvi Highway, 125 km west of Kathmandu (3 hours) and 75 km east of Pokhara (1.5 hours). Buses pass through regularly.

The town is small and walkable.
