Rehoboth

Hardap, Namibia

Why visit Rehoboth?

Rehoboth is a historic town in the Hardap Region, known as the cultural and political heart of Namibia's Baster community. The Basters are descendants of mixed-race relationships between European settlers and indigenous Khoikhoi women, who migrated from the Cape Colony in the 1870s and established the "Free Republic of Rehoboth." The town has a distinctive character reflected in its church, architecture, and annual Rehoboth Day celebrations.
