Caia is a town on the southern bank of the Zambezi River in Sofala Province, connected to the opposite bank by the Armando Emílio Guebuza Bridge — at 2.3 km, one of the longest bridges in Africa. The bridge is a critical transport link on the EN1 highway, crossing the vast Zambezi River. Caia is a market town and transport stop for travellers crossing the Zambezi.
