Why visit Moamba?

Moamba is the seat of Moamba District in Maputo Province, west of Maputo city toward the South Africa border, with a population of around 56,000 (2007 census). The Maputo–Ressano Garcia railway, which continues on into South Africa, runs through the town; a second line toward Xinavane is no longer in operation. It is a small service centre for the surrounding agricultural district, whose main crops are corn, cassava, cowpea, peanut, and sweet potato.
