Almaty International Airport (ALA) is 330 km west. 5-6 hour drive.
By Train
No railway. Road transport only.
By Car / Road
From Almaty, drive east on the A-351 to Esik, then continue on local roads to Kegen. Public marshrutkas depart from Almaty's Eastern Bus Station, journey takes 5-6 hours.
Walking in the village. 4x4 vehicles recommended for mountain road trips. Local drivers offer tours to the lakes.
