By Plane

Almaty International Airport (ALA) is 300 km west. 4-5 hour drive.

By Train

No railway. Road transport only.

By Car / Road

From Almaty, drive east toward Kegen, then turn north at the Saty turnoff. 4x4 recommended in wet conditions. Marshrutkas from Almaty's Eastern Bus Station to Kegen; hire local transport from there.

Walking is the main way to explore. 4x4 for mountain roads. Horse trekking popular.
