Why visit Shichigahama?
Shichigahama (七ヶ浜) is a small coastal town in central Miyagi Prefecture, located on the Pacific coast just east of Sendai. The name means "seven beaches," referring to the series of sandy coves along its shoreline. The town is a popular local getaway for swimming, surfing, and coastal recreation.
Shichigahama's economy is based on fishing, particularly nori (seaweed) cultivation, and tourism. The town has a relaxed, beach-town atmosphere and offers some of the closest coastal access to Sendai.
The climate is mild and maritime. The best time to visit is summer (July-August) for beach activities.
