About Seto
Seto (瀬戸) is a city in northern Aichi Prefecture, renowned for its ceramics industry—one of Japan's oldest and most important. The city's name is synonymous with Japanese ceramics (setomono). Seto-yaki pottery has been produced here since the Heian period (794–1185), and the city remains a major centre for ceramic production, with hundreds of studios, kilns, and showrooms. The city is also known for the Seto Ohashi Bridge and the Seto Memorial Museum. The climate is mild year-round.
