Why visit Nahariya?

Nahariyya (Hebrew: נהריה, also transliterated Nahariya) is a small city with a population of about 50,000 in the Western Galilee in the north of Israel. Founded in 1934 by German Jews fleeing Nazi oppression, it has a relaxed seaside character with a quaint boardwalk along the Ga'aton River leading to the Mediterranean beach. It serves as a gateway to Rosh HaNikra's dramatic sea grottoes on the Lebanese border.

The climate is Mediterranean with hot dry summers and mild winters. The beach and boardwalk make it a pleasant summer destination.
