About Shfaram

Shfaram (Hebrew: שפרעם, Arabic: شفاعمرو) is an Arab city in the Lower Galilee of northern Israel, with a population of approximately 42,000. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the Galilee, with a history spanning over 3,000 years. The city is notable for its religious diversity — it has significant Muslim, Christian, and Druze communities living side by side. Shfaram has several important religious sites from different faiths.

The climate is Mediterranean with warm summers and mild winters. The city sits on a hill in the rolling Lower Galilee landscape.

How to reach

By Plane

Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is approximately 110 km south. Haifa Airport (HFA) is about 35 km west.

By Train

There is no train station in Shfaram. The nearest station is Karmiel (about 20 km northeast).

By Car / Road

From Haifa: approximately 35 km (40 min) via Route 70. From Nazareth: approximately 25 km (30 min) via Route 75 and Route 79. From Acre: approximately 30 km (35 min). Bus services connect to Haifa and other nearby cities.

The city is best navigated by car or taxi. Walking is feasible in the historic center. The town is hilly.
