Why visit Samosir?

Samosir is a large island in the middle of Lake Toba, North Sumatra, formed by a resurgent dome after the ancient Toba supervolcano eruption. It's about the size of Singapore and is the cultural heartland of the Batak Toba people. The island is known for its dramatic landscapes, traditional Batak villages, and relaxed lakeside atmosphere, with Tuk Tuk as the main tourist hub.
