Why visit Nini-Suhien National Park?

Nini-Suhien National Park sits at the northern end of the Ankasa Conservation Area in Ghana's Western Region, near the Côte d'Ivoire border, roughly 365 km west of Accra. Together with the Ankasa Forest Reserve to its south, it protects about 509 km² of continuous wet evergreen rainforest — the only protected area in Ghana within the wet evergreen tropical high-rainforest belt, and among the most biodiverse forests in West Africa. Documented wildlife includes forest elephants, bongo, leopard, West African chimpanzees, the endemic Diana monkey and other primates, and pangolins, alongside more than 200 recorded bird species and over 630 butterfly species.
