El Zarqa

Why visit El Zarqa?

El Zarqa ("the blue one" in Arabic) is a small city in Damietta Governorate on the Nile Delta coast, one of the governorate's four main administrative subdivisions alongside Damietta, Faraskur, and Kafr Saad. It is a quiet local town of around 20,000–30,000 people, part of the broader Damietta area's economy of fishing, agriculture, and furniture-making, with no major standalone visitor sights of its own — most travellers pass through en route to Damietta city.
