Why visit Holasovice?

Holašovice is a small village in South Bohemia, located approximately 15 km west of České Budějovice. Listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, it is the best example of "Selské Baroko" (village Baroque), a unique architectural style combining Baroque and Classicism with richly decorated, colourful village houses from the 19th century.

The village's main square is remarkable for its concentration of well-preserved folk-Baroque buildings with no newer construction, creating a magnificent and photogenic streetscape. The uniqueness lies in the preserved state, number, and variety of these decorated houses. Even though the village is small, it draws significant tourist traffic due to its UNESCO status. The surrounding countryside offers pleasant walking and cycling through the flat South Bohemian landscape.
