Why visit Jindrichuv Hradec?
Jindřichův Hradec is a historic town of approximately 22,000 inhabitants in the South Bohemian Region, situated near the border with the Vysočina Region. Founded in the 13th century, it grew as a regional centre under the Lords of Hradec and later the Czechčínks and other noble families. The town is renowned for its well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture, including a large castle and chateau complex, one of the largest in the Czech Republic.
The town centre features a network of narrow streets, historic squares, and numerous churches. The nearby Česká Kanada (Czech Canada) region offers wild, rocky landscapes and protected natural areas. The climate is typical of inland South Bohemia: warm summers (17–24°C) and cold winters (-3–5°C), with pleasant conditions for walking and cycling from April through October.
