Yardımlı

Yardımlı is a rayon in southeastern Azerbaijan, situated in the foothills of the Talysh Mountains near the Iranian border. The district is characterized by its lush, subtropical landscape — dense forests, tea plantations, and citrus groves cover the mountain slopes, creating a verdant environment quite different from the arid lowlands elsewhere in Azerbaijan. The subtropical climate makes Yardımlı one of the few places in Azerbaijan where tea is grown, and the harvest seasons offer opportunities to observe local agriculture.

Yardımlı is connected to Baku by road, with the journey taking approximately 4–5 hours (300 km) via the M3 highway through Lankaran. Marshrutkas connect Yardımlı with Lankaran and other regional centers. Within the district, local buses and taxis serve the main towns and villages. The mountain roads can be winding but are generally paved. A car is recommended for exploring the rural areas beyond the town center.
