Boradigah is a village in Masallı District in southeastern Azerbaijan, located about 15 km northwest of Masalli city in the foothills of the Talysh Mountains. The area is renowned for its thermal and mineral springs, which have made it a modest centre for spa tourism within Azerbaijan. The village is surrounded by tea plantations and forested hills.

Winters are mild (2–8°C), summers warm and humid (22–30°C). Spring and autumn are the most pleasant seasons. The thermal springs are enjoyed year-round.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Lənkəran International Airport (LLK) is about 50 km south. A taxi costs 30–35 AZN.

By Train

Masalli station is about 15 km southeast, with trains from Baku.

By Car / Road

Boradigah is 15 km northwest of Masalli on a local road. A taxi from Masalli costs 10–12 AZN. Marshrutkas from Masalli serve the village.

Boradigah is small and walkable. A vehicle is useful for exploring the thermal spring sites in the surrounding hills.

What are the things to do?

  • Thermal spring sanatoriums — Several Soviet-era and modern sanatorium complexes in and around Boradigah offer mineral water baths and treatments.

  • Tea plantations — The hills above the village are terraced with tea bushes, a defining landscape of the region.

  • Thermal baths — The main reason to visit. Sanatoriums offer mineral water baths, mud therapy, and massage. Day visits are usually possible (10–20 AZN).

  • Tea farm walks — Short walks through the plantations with opportunities to see the tea-plucking process (May–September).

  • Hiking — The Talysh foothills north of Boradigah have unmarked trails through oak and hornbeam forests.

Sanatoriums serve full-board meals: Azerbaijani cuisine with a focus on fresh, healthy ingredients. A small chaykhana in the village offers tea and snacks.

Where to drink?

Boradigah's mineral spring water is the main attraction — it is bottled and sold regionally. Azerbaijani tea is also excellent here.
