Why visit Xirmandali?
Xirmandali is a village in the Biləsuvar district of southeastern Azerbaijan, located about 25 km southeast of the district capital Bilasuvar, near the Iranian border. It is a classic Mugan Plain agricultural community, surrounded by cotton fields, grain farms, and pastureland. The village is named after a local plant species (xirmanda) that was once abundant in the area.
The climate is semi-arid: hot, dry summers exceeding 38 °C, mild winters (2–8 °C), and sparse rainfall. The best visiting period is late spring (May) or early autumn (October).
