What are the things to do?
Southern Mugan Plain — The landscape here is subtly different from the northern plain, with slightly more undulating terrain and patches of dry scrub.
Border Region Scenery — The proximity to Iran (about 5 km south) gives the area a remote, frontier character.
Explore the rural hinterland on foot or by bicycle — the quiet lanes see almost no vehicle traffic.
Visit the large irrigation pumping stations that lift water from the Araz River to the Mugan fields — impressive Soviet-era engineering.
