Nambuangongo
Bengo, Angola
Why visit Nambuangongo?
Nambuangongo is an inland town and municipality in eastern Bengo Province, roughly 90 km east of Caxito. It is one of the less-visited corners of the province, set amid rolling hills and farmland. The area is primarily agricultural, producing cassava, maize, and beans. Nambuangongo saw heavy fighting during the Angolan Civil War, and remnants of that period can still be seen in the surrounding countryside. The climate is tropical with a distinct rainy season (November–April) and a cooler dry season (May–October).
