Why visit Ambriz?
Ambriz is a coastal town in northern Bengo Province, approximately 130 km north of Luanda near the border with Zaire Province. It sits at the mouth of the Ambriz River on the Atlantic Ocean and has a small port that historically served as a trading post during the Portuguese colonial period. Today Ambriz is a quiet fishing town with sandy beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. The climate is tropical-semiarid, with the Benguela Current keeping temperatures moderate year-round. The dry season (May–October) is the most pleasant time to visit.
