Why visit Bac Me?

Bac Me is a rural district in southern Ha Giang province, located along the Gam River valley about 50 km south of Ha Giang city. The area is less frequented by tourists than the Ha Giang Loop towns to the north, offering a quieter, more off-the-beaten-path experience. The landscape is a mix of forested hills, river valleys, and terraced rice fields, with a predominantly Tay and Dao population.

The district covers approximately 782 km². The climate is subtropical with a distinct rainy season from May to October. The best time to visit is from September to November when the weather is drier and the rice terraces are at their most photogenic.
