About Bac Quang

Bac Quang is a district town in southern Ha Giang province, situated on National Route 2 about 40 km south of Ha Giang city. It serves as a transport gateway between Ha Giang province and the Red River Delta to the south. The district is predominantly agricultural, known for its extensive tea plantations — particularly Shan Tuyet tea — and fruit orchards.

The area is less mountainous than northern Ha Giang, with rolling hills and wide river valleys. The population is a mix of Kinh, Tay, and Dao ethnic groups. The climate is subtropical with warm, humid summers and mild winters. The best time to visit is from October to April when the weather is cooler and drier.
