The Moosehead Lake region offers some of Maine's most untouched wilderness, with vast forests, remote ponds, and abundant wildlife including moose, black bears, and loons. Greenville's waterfront downtown features shops, restaurants, and the Moosehead Marine Museum, which tells the story of the region's steamboat era. The town is also home to Katahdin Cruises, offering scenic boat tours on Moosehead Lake.

Fall foliage peaks in late September to early October, with spectacular views across Moosehead Lake and the surrounding mountains. Winter brings heavy snowfall and cold temperatures, making it a destination for snowmobiling, ice fishing, and cross-country skiing.
