Milas

Milas is a town in Muğla Province, southwestern Turkey, about 30 km northeast of Bodrum. With a population of around 60,000, it is an important agricultural and carpet-weaving centre. The town lies near the ancient Carian city of Labraunda and is also the location of Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV). Milas carpets are among the finest in Turkey, with a distinctive local design tradition.

The climate is Mediterranean with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. Spring and autumn are the most pleasant times to visit. The town centre has a traditional feel with a historic mosque and market.

Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) is 15 km south, with frequent shuttle services.

Milas is on the main road between Bodrum (30 min) and Muğla (1 hr). Frequent minibuses.

By Train

No railway. The nearest station is in Aydın.

The town centre is walkable. Dolmuş connect to surrounding villages.
