Why visit Luleburgaz?

Lüleburgaz is the largest district in Kırklareli Province, an industrial and agricultural town on the historic Istanbul–Edirne–Europe road. Its centrepiece is the Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Külliyesi, a mosque, covered market, caravanserai, bath and school complex designed by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan and completed around 1570 as a waypoint for the Ottoman postal route to the Balkans, complete with a palace built for Sultan Selim II's use.
