Patnos

Patnos is a town in the southeast of Ağrı Province, near the border with Bitlis and Van provinces. It is an agricultural centre situated on the fertile Murat River plain. The town serves as a local market hub for surrounding villages.

Patnos has a continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm summers. The best time to visit is late spring through early autumn.

Ağrı Ahmed-i Hani Airport (AJI IATA) is about 80 km northwest. Van Ferit Melen Airport (VAN IATA) is about 120 km south.

Patnos is on the D-965 road connecting Ağrı to Bitlis and Van. Regular buses and minibuses serve the town.
