The nearest airport is Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam, about 50 km north.

By Car / Road

Mkuranga is on the road south from Dar es Salaam toward Kilwa and Mtwara. Daladalas and buses run frequently from Dar es Salaam (about 1 hour).

Mkuranga is small and walkable. Boda-bodas provide local transport.
