About Bibile

Bibile is a town in the Monaragala District of Uva Province, located about 40 km east of Badulla. It is known for Bibile oranges — a variety of orange grown in the area that is considered the best in Sri Lanka. The town is an agricultural centre surrounded by fruit plantations and paddy fields.

Bibile has a cool climate due to its elevation in the foothills of the central highlands. The area is known for citrus fruits, vegetables, and spices. It serves as a local market town. Climate is moderate, best visited December–April.
