Why visit Pikine?

Pikine is a densely populated suburb of Dakar, located inland from the capital. It is one of the fastest-growing urban areas in Africa, with a population exceeding one million. Originally a planned settlement built to accommodate the expanding population of Dakar, Pikine has developed a vibrant local culture with busy markets, mosques, and community life.
