La Tourney

Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia

Why visit La Tourney?

La Tourney is a coastal community in the Vieux Fort district of Saint Lucia, situated near Sandy Beach (Anse de Sables) on the Caribbean coast. The settlement is known primarily for its proximity to one of the island's best beaches — a long, wide crescent of white sand with consistent trade winds that make it a world-class spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing. With a population of a few hundred, La Tourney is a mix of local residents and water sports enthusiasts.

The terrain is flat and coastal, with the settlement stretching along the road between Vieux Fort town and Sandy Beach. The Caribbean Sea is calm and shallow along this stretch, providing safe swimming conditions. The trade winds blow consistently from December to July, creating ideal conditions for wind sports.

La Tourney has a growing reputation as a water sports hub, with several operators offering equipment rental and lessons. The community retains a local character, with small provision shops, informal eateries, and a laid-back Caribbean atmosphere.
